I watched Olympics diving last night, and now I get it. The details of the sport — the factors by which one dive is superior to another — are generally only visible during slow motion. But Guo Jingjing’s skills, notably her high leaps at the start, were awesome even to the unaided eye. Amazing liftoffs. Apparently she’s also a model who pulls down a couple million each year.
