Things that don't play well together: PS3 and Linksys
1 AM. Five hours trying to get my Playstation to connect wirelessly to the home network, and from there to the great beyond known as the internet. I managed to get it to connect to the home network I think (it gets an IP address, or at least it accepts the fixed IP address I assigned it on the router interface and in the PS3’s manual IP entry field), but it doesn’t make it beyond there. Maybe it doesn’t even make it to the router, there’s really no way to know.
“DNS error 80710102, DNS error 80710102”. Found tons of advice on the net, to no avail.
Updated the Linksys firmware. No improvement.
Giving up (again*). Must sleep.
Maybe try borrowing a router from work if there’s one around, to see if it works well with other brands.
*Tried once before, last year when I got the Playstation. 2 people tried then and failed.

I could make it work. Then again, I’m just that awesome.

Maybe you could intimidate it with your awesomeness. But I think to avoid having your awesomeness turn into crestfallenness I’ll have to end up getting a replacement. (I’ll try one from work first, and then match the brand/model if it does work).

I don;t have another brand at work. (I only found routers, no wireless routers). If you’re in Boulder sometime and want to try, I could give you a few bucks to try — maybe $10 for a couple hours effort.
