Boomer and Helo versus a toaster
My gosh, how many YEARS did it take Diamond Select Toys and me to finally make this simple scene from Battlestar Galactica? I’ve at last completed the “Helo defends the woman-he-thinks-is-Boomer against a Cylon” shadowbox:
(Answer: about 2 years — they are really slow in releasing figures, as evidenced by the fact that the show is now off the air and they’re only just getting to Boomer/Eight).
And yes, I recognize that Helo is being macho, posturing himself as the defender of Boomer, who is totally able to take care of herself.
Sidenote: To get this Boomer figure, which is a Toys R Us exclusive, I had to order a non-existent Tigh figure which had the same product number as Boomer, and then hope that they wouldn’t realize the mistake until after it had been shipped. I lucked out. Such are the complexities of the action figure world.

Those really are beautiful figures. We’ve come along way from the 1980s figures.

That’s the truth! In my childhood, they simply looked like “a man” or “a woman”!
