I was not born on that date!
One of the biggest blows to identity when you find yourself in a parallel, nearly-identical dimension (with your present consciousness occupying the body of your nearly-identical duplicate) is when you learn that your birthdate and birthtime are different. Nothing harms the sense of self more than being told there is no record of you — the particular you — being born (as some orphans may attest). Or so I’ve heard.

Interesting comment. I have had a spate of dreams lately in which I switch realities or time-lines or whatever you want to call it right in the middle of some situation. The altering of “reality” is usually quite jarring, but always interesting and I always know when things have changed.

You should blog about it, I’d love to read some of those situations and see how they compare. (I wouldn’t use my comments area for such long stories, I think the form cuts off after a couple hundred characters).
