Firefly ship from Serenity released at last

I can’t describe how beautiful the packaging is for the newly released Serenity ornament from Dark Horse, so I’ll post a pic. Dark Horse took their time manufacturing this but the results are lavish – both the ship and the box are excellent.

The full color box – nearly the size of a small shoe box – makes for an excellent base on which to perch the ship (and the ship’s stand) herself. And with that set up you can then stand action figures of the Serenity crew — the few action figures that Diamond half-assedly released — in front of the box, so the ship is above and behind them. I don’t what else would have this prettier, other than an Inara figure! (And everyone else from the crew of course!). I don’t have my figures with me (they’re in storage), but here is a snapshot of the ship and box.

Also on the shelf you may see some of the very small Battlestar Galactica titanium ships from Hasbro, which I probably would not have been getting if there were proper action figures available. I keep hoping that someday there will be action figures, and then these ships can serve as background decoration. (The bald action figure in the background is of course Riddick, from the Chronicles of).
