Some surveys say that 48% of the country “does not like” the health insurance reform bill, while some 30+% “do” like it.
Republicans say this proves that “a majority” of the country does not want it.
But I say, that the 48% who do not like it is likely comprised of two parties:
1) Those who do not like it because it lacks a public option (in other words, they dislike it because it does not go far enough — though they’d gladly take everything it does, even if they want it to do more), and
2) those who do not like it because they heard there are “death panels” (in other words, they dislike it because they don’t want anything to change).
The Republicans are hoping people will assume everyone who said they did not like the bill said so because they don’t want any change at all.
But that would be bullshit. Bullshit from Boehner.
