I finally did something productive that made me feel better about work — I made new letterhead. Years ago we’d received a logo in low resolution for web use only. It was too small to print, of course. We’d never bought a high res version for printing on letterhead. I found that today I was able to recreate the logo in high res, whereas a few years ago, I hadn’t been able to. I guess my Photoshop skills have improved. It only took me a few hours and it is pretty exact.
Here’s the logo we had, and my remake of it:
As always this was prompted by a sudden need — a publication being put out by IONS (the Institute of Noetic Sciences) needed our logo since we’d co-sponsored it. The request came in around 4pm. By midnight I had it done. Here’s the letterhead; the font I chose is Trajan Pro:
On the downside, I am tired this morning and I have a bit of a headache, and I am not looking forward to having another injection into my foot. Last time it made me have flu-like symptoms for a day, and I expect it will again. I was also kind of down yesterday, and I was loading up my iTunes with lots of music that I only like when I am surly — Bauhaus, PIL, the Cure, and I even decided to give the first Tin Machine album some rotation as well, though I suspect I’ll delete it…it was an overblown mid-life crisis period for Bowie, wherein he tried to take attention off himself by having a guitarist make strange noises. I was also dissapointed that the Bauhaus disc doesn’t have much bass; the disc is from some years back when cds generally didn’t have much bass.
I think I should create a playlist of “Depressing Pseudo Goth Music” for these bands. Bela Lugosi’s dead. Undead.
