De’ are shooting laser beams into me shoulders! I just came on back from getting some of my shoulder hairs lasered… actually just small areas around my clavicles, between my clavs and the top of my chest, because I wanted to see how painful it would be. It wasn’t painful hardly at all, and the head of the laser is now huge compared to how it used to be. It’s like the size of a quarter, and it shoots cryogenically frozen air onto you right after it fires so you are immediately soothed from the pain of having a hair follicle explode in your skin (which happens as the follicle is superheated by the split-second pulse of the laser).
I’ve always planned on eventually getting rid of my shoulder hair (that sweeps up to the back of my neck like some kind of Nike swoosh stripe) but I’ve been afraid of the pain. But this was not bad. I may just decide to go full-bore and get it all done. But as I said, I am trying just these small parts first to see how my skin reacts.
It took less than 5 minutes to do the small parts. In and out, done. A few dollars lighter, and a bit tender. But I could see doing this again real soon.
(Hey, the test area looks like a Star Trek logo!
It follows the natural hair line up my arm)
And yes I’ll still be a hairy mo’fo since there’s nothing to be done about one’s chest and tummy. But I keep it neat.
