Gas prices

Hard to believe that it was not so long ago that gas prices crept from just over $1 to just under $2. Then came hurricane Katrina, which domestic oil refiners used as an excuse to curtail refinery operations. By slowing refining of oil into gasoline, they achieved their goal of ending the era of $1 gasoline. (Did I mention that I knew a person whose friend served drinks at a meeting of oil executives in Texas, who was present when they conspired to end the era of $1 gasoline?). Then the Saudi’s realized that if Americans can screw Americans like that, then they could too — and now gas is just under $5.

Which is a long way of saying I believe I’ve figured out which bus route goes to my house and work. It looks like the 208. So far I’m sure about how to go from work to home: Take the 208 at the main bus station — but not so sure about how to go from home to work, since that is a residential sidewalk bus stop from which it looks like I could get on either the 208 -or- the 205 -or- possibly others, but not sure if they are all headed to the main bus station.
