HotToys reveals Resident Evil “Alice” figure at trade show today!

Posted in Personal by Will on Monday, December 27th, 2010 ~ 3pm

Let’s brighten up HotToy’s 2010-12-27 photo, shall we?

An alternate image from the same trade show reveals that her dusty-blue Russian parka would also be included.

Why the mask? Possibly the mask was just because the likeness hasn’t been signed off on yet. Hopefully the real figure won’t have a mask on. The eyebrows and forehead look just like Milla!

Russian parka extra (exclusive?):

3 more photos, from a Milla fan on the MillaJ forum:

BTW I believe the hairpiece that appears beside the figure is present to indicate that like other high-end figures, you can remove the hair to access a joystick which allows you to position the eyes (to change the direction the eyes are looking in).

Meaning of Life – there’s an Ap for that

Posted in Dream by Will on Saturday, December 25th, 2010 ~ 1pm

Dreamed there was “an ap for that” which revealed the meaning of life when you pressed you hand to the screen. Turned out it was different for everyone!

The results (“the meaning”) were rather like FlashForward (the tv show in which everyone saw a glimpse of a particular moment of their futures) in the sense that it showed a sort of crucible: My meaning of life, the ap said, was to be found sitting a few seats away from me at a German rave concert. I saw the seat and row number of where my own ticket was (17, 19, I think) and there was info about how my meaning of life would be like 5 or 6 or 7 seats to my left. (In reality, I don’t think concerts with that sort of music have seating, but it was only a dream.) I wasn’t sure if, like FlashForward, this meant I had to be sure to remember these details and make them so (get the right ticket, get the right seat) or if it would happen without trying.

I found the Ap’s answer was different for everyone because people could not simultaneously put their hands on the screen at the same time. Each person had to do it alone.

I dream I am obnoxious

Posted in Dream by Will on Friday, December 10th, 2010 ~ 2pm

I’d like to stop dreaming for a few nights. I keep having dreams in which I am some kind of obnoxious young man sentenced to an outdoor summer camp sort of punishment, much to the dismay of my parents (who nonetheless take me there, hoping I’ll reform). Or other dreams along the same lines.

Romeo and Juliet

most erotic dream eva! i was being kicked out of a room i rented from a family, and wuld have to move into a basement level, nearly windowless room with rats and cats and water on the floor of the hallway leading to it. This was all bad, and would be unforgivably bad were it not for their daughter, who I believed had a promising singing career ahead of her, and who was clearly falling in love with me. Ok, so shades of Lolita perhaps, but, it was an intense series of days of building flirtations, plus i think i was 20 years younger in the dream. So it was only illicit in the way i was betraying the family’s trust by running off with their daughter, or rather, letting her run off with me. And by trying to get her demo heard, which the family was very much against because they had another performer in the family, and felt that the younger daughter had no chance and that it would build up hopes that could not be met. Even their agent said that — that she wouldn’t have even listened to it if it wasn’t for the family connection. But the daughter was developing her own singing and wanted this.

One of our first flirtations was when she was cold due to a white skirt, and from sitting on the metal edges of a wall of windows, and I suggested she sit near a toaster to get its warmth. That was my first inkling that she was flirting with me.

Also there was a weird bit near the end where an aerial performance artist who she loved the work of was, by chance, near our car and we got to see in person that she had a hole in her spine at waist-level, into which she could hook up sensory apparatus of some kind. Gross looking, but the daughter wanted one too, and got one. Also, a bit in which cars had electronic bumper stickers… I could type in a message from the front seat, and press “display on” and it would appear on the back of the car. For break-downs and such, but could also be used to type anything else.
